More!

Manchester City have a large appetite. Whichever team that comes across them, no matter when or where, is devoured! The Champions League witnessed this today as City took a bite out of Sevilla.

It was made clear that City were up to their old tricks right from the start of the match. Sterling gave his club the lead in the 8th minute. Just three minutes later, Fernandinho had doubled the scoreline! They made it look easy.

Nevertheless, in the 25th moment, Trémoulinas scored a cancellation goal for Sevilla. However, this new sense of hope was not allowed to live for long. Bony extended City’s lead in the 36th! The game was done and dusted before half time could even come around.

Manchester City are at the top of Group D and have secured their entrance into the next stage of the Champions League! It was an immense victory for the club, and an astonishing start to the football season. The last 16 round will no doubt be accepted by City with an open heart, mind and soul.

Three: It’s a Magic Number

Three is a number that many people associate with luck. Luck was on Arsenal’s side today. Three goals were netted to secure an away win against Swansea.

The first goal came from the one and only Olivier Giroud. He gave the Gunners the lead in the 49th minute of the match! This opened the second half into a wrath of gunner glory…

In the 68th minute, Koscielny doubled the lead. As if that wasn’t enough, Campbell made another extension to the scoreline just five minutes later! The Swans were sinking and Peter Cech wasn’t going to allow them to come up again.

There have been countless matches that have ended with three goals being scored and no goals being conceded. This match was one of them. Such scorelines are keeping Arsenal on their toes and on the tail of Manchester City!

Another One Bites The Dust

Premier League clubs are suffering at the feet of lower league clubs. Manchester United are out of the Capital One Cup after losing a penalty shootout to Middlesbrough.

The game suffered from lack of goals. The ball never saw the back of the net. Even when the game was extended to 120 minutes, the strikers continued to fail.

Both sides had 6 shots on target, but did nothing with it. The difference between the Premier League club and the Championship was more or less ill-defined.

Arsenal may have ended their journey in the League Cup due to conceding three goals, but Manchester United lost it by conceding three penalties and failing to score three of their own.

Believe it or not, Wayne Rooney, Michael Carrick and Ashley Young all missed their penalties! All three of them. One, two and three! Their fate was crystal clear.

Manchester United are out of the League Cup, that’s for sure. So what else do they have left to fight for? Or, is the real question, who do they have to fight for the team?

But it’s not just them. The Premier League clubs are tumbling and dropping at the sight of minor challenges. Manchester United is definitely no exception.

Not One…Not Two…

Three goals were conceded by Arsenal in their match against Sheffield Wednesday. They didn’t expect that the League Cup would have so many bumps on the road.

Before any goals were scored, Arsenal lost two players to injury. Both Theo Walcott and Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain had to leave the pitch. The weakening of the squad may have contributed to the result of the match.

In the 27th minute, Wallace netted the first goal for Sheffield Wednesday. Then in the 40th and 51st minute, two more goals were thrown in. The Gunners were gonners!

Arsenal have been denied the chance to progress into the quater-finals of the Capital One Cup. They’re out of this cup, with three goals conceded; they’ve got three trophies left to fight for.

Triple Turnover.

How many games have Manchester United won by three goals to nil? Is it now three? They gained a very pleasing result from their game against Everton.

United took an early lead when Schneiderlin netted a goal in the 18th minute. The wait for the next goal was rather short as Herrera scored a goal just four minutes later!

The Reds refused to show mercy. In the second half Rooney extended the lead for his club and no goals were let in from the home team. Aww. There’s always next time.

The Reds are denying Manchester City the ability to run away with the title.  Who knows, it could be a Manchester derby that decides the League Champion!

City of Cheers

Manchester City triumphed in their first match against West Brom.Three goals were scored and three points were gained!

The first goal came from none other than Yaya Toure. The goal was put in just as the game was starting to pick up in momentum. He then extended the lead for his team in the 24th! He just never stops giving!

In the second half of the match Man City added one more goal to their lead. Kompany netted the ball in the 59th minute! There was no going back now.

Both Manchester clubs won their starting matches. How far down the line will their rivalry brew?

Gunner Grin

The Gunners  can be seen with grand smiles on their faces after a successful match against West Ham. The number ‘3’ is considered a lucky number and it proved to be very much so in this match.

Giroud ended the first half with a bang! He scored a goal just before the half time whistle blew! We can always rely on him to provide the exciting and unepected action that we all crave.

In the second half, Arsenal showed the fans that they had even more to offer! Ramsey doubled the lead in the 81st minute. Just three minutes later, their supporters rose once again to a goal from Flamini.

1, 2, 3. Arsenal scored three goals and are third place on the Premier League table. After winning their 7th game in the last eight, they are only one point behind Manchester City! The Gunners have been rewarded with extra confidence for their Champions League match on Tuesday and perhaps to potentially even climb to second place on the League table!
