Chelsea Conquered

Chelsea faced Atlético Madrid for the second leg of the Champions League semi-final. Mourinho was a happy lad after his team tampered with the brilliance of Liverpool; today, it was a different story…

Torres scored in the 36th minute to put Chelsea ahead. However, Adrian then scored in the 44th minute to stop the blues in in their tracks. Diego Costa put in a penalty in the 60th minute to further churn the stomachs of Chelsea. Then Turan wrapped up Atletico’s win.

Chelsea are out of the Champions League and now the Premier League is all they can desire. Does Mourinho have the mentality to help his team go for the Premier League title?

Gunners Numb Newcastle

20140428-104908 pm.jpg

Arsenal annihilated Newcastle with a 3-0 defeat! The worst part was that they did it with ease…

The first goal came from Koscielny in the 26th minute of the game. This was then followed by a goal from Özil in the 42nd minute.
The trouble didn’t end for Newcastle in the second half as Giroud put in a goal to ample the pride of the Gunners!

Newcastle didn’t manage to get any corners at all, whereas Arsenal were able to gain 14. Arsenal dominated with 61% possession and had a total of 20 shots at goal.

It’s seems as if Arsenal have broken away in the race for the last Champions League spot. It’s only a miracle that can redeem Everton now…

City Clutch The Loose Reins

Manchester City defeated Crystal Palace to get closer to their destination on the journey to 1st place.

Dzeko scored in the 4th minute to put City ahead at an early stage of the match. Then Yaya Touré scored before half time to wrap up their win.

Man City are 3 points behind the leaders with a game in hand. Now Liverpool will have to rely on the actions of Manchester City as well as their own.

Will Conquest be City’s…or will they be humbled?

Liverpool Lets Loose The Title

20140427-052935 pm.jpg

Liverpool faced Chelsea in hope that they would officially claim the title as theirs. However, it looked like Chelsea had other ideas…

Chelsea crushed Liverpool (and part of their dreams) with a 2-0 victory! Ba scored in the last minute of the first half and then Willian scored in the last minute of the second half…Weird right?

Liverpool were unable to make anything out of their 73% possession and their 26 shots at goal. Well, you win some you lose some. Although, this one should have been a win for them.

Mourinho showed all signs of pride and glory and perhaps the game even gave him the extra oomph to assist his team towards reaching 1st place!

Glorified Giggs Guides Manchester United

20140426-083914 pm.jpg

Since Moyes was shown the door to unemployment, Giggs has been incharge of Manchester United. Today was his day to make a first impression to the Man United fans. It seems that he’s managed to make a pretty glorious impression…
Manchester United hammered Norwich with a 4-0 victory! Their first goal was from a penalty towards the end of the first half. It was scored by Rooney and he put in another at an early stage of the second half. Mata then went on to score the rest of the goals in the 63rd and 73rd minute.
Has the departure of Moyes brang back the ancient glimmer of Manchester United?

In other news, Everton failed to gain points from their match against Southampton. So it looks like Arsenal have some breathing space and if they lose tomorrow not too much damage will be created. Until tomorrow…Goodnight.

Costly Comfortable Chelsea

Chelsea faced Atletico Madrid for the first leg of the semi finals. The game ended 0-0 which means that Chelsea can play at their home ground with a bit more confidence.
However the game did have a bit of troubles…
The game started with an injury to Cech who was taken off and replaced; he’ll be off for the rest of the season. Later on, Terry had to be removed for an injury also. The yellow card came out on quite a few occasions as if it was a revolving door!
Chelsea may have the advantage but was it worth it for the price they’ve had to pay?

Chelsea are known for their great European victories. Who knows, may be its time for them to take the limelight again!

DAVID MOYES’ MOROSE

20140422-065359 pm.jpg
DAVID MOYES HAS BEEN SACKED AND IS NO LONGER THE MANAGER OF MANCHESTER UNITED! HIS SIX YEAR CONTRACT DID NOT EVEN LAST A FULL SEASON. HE HAD TO WAIT AND LISTEN AS THE SPORTING WORLD GOSSIPED ENDLESSLY ABOUT HIS SACKING (THAT, AT THE TIME, HANDN’T EVEN TAKEN PLACE YET). RYAN GIGGS IS NOW STEPPING IN TO TAKE CONTROL. LET US SEE HOW MUCH THE NEW MANAGER WILL BE ABLE TO REACH THE STANDARD OF ALEX FERGUSON…

Man City Close In

20140421-114936 pm.jpg

Manchester City defeated West Brom 3-1 to close in on Chelsea and refurbish the title race that’s believed to be settled.
Zabaleta scored for Man City at an early stage, within just 3 minutes! This must have disfigured West Brom as Agüero went on to score just 7 minutes later.
However, West Brom weren’t just going to take it lying down, Dorrans scored for them in the 16th minute to put hope back into his team. Man City put in another goal before it even reached half time to finalise their win. They are now only one point behind Chelsea with a game in hand.
Perhaps Manchester City might actually have a bigger chance of lifting the cup than we thought..

In other news, Manchester United might not wake up to another day with Moyes in charge. We may know if he gets the sack as early as tomorrow morning. Moyes..the chosen one? More like the undesired one.

Reds Rebel

20140420-110735 pm.jpg

Liverpool faced Norwich today to push themselves even closer to the Premier League title. Even though Norwich put up a good fight, they were unlucky to face a 3-2 loss. Sterling scored 2 of Liverpool’s goals with the first one being in the 4th minute of the match!
Liverpool have now reached 80 points on the table and are 5 points ahead of Chelsea.
Defeating Chelsea next week will be their final confirmation that embeds the trophy right into the palms of the red revolutionists!

Liverpool aren’t the only team in red that could be celebrating a trophy soon…Arsenal will be facing Hull for the FA Cup final; it’s a good thing that they’ve already preinstalled fear in their souls. Hull took a devastating 3-0 downthrow from the one and only Gunners! Ramsey scored the first goal in the 31st minute of the game. This was then followed by 2 more from Podolski to give Hull the final caution to keep away from their FA Cup exhilaration.

Red might have ruled today, but one club just couldn’t keep away from fire. Manchester United faced a 2-0 abashment from Moyes’ former club, Everton. This game has placed Man United far off from their Europa hopes (not to talk about Champions League); it’s, however, put Everton closer to a chance of a Champions League spot.

Will the Reds rise and add the flames needed to set the Premier League alight?

Broken Record. Broken Dream.

Chelsea: a team battling for the Premier League Title. Sunderland: a team battling to stay in the Premier League. Who’s closest to winning their battle? Surprisingly, Sunderland is the team taking on their destiny without fear of destruction!
Sunderland defeated Chelsea 2-1, with their last goal resulting from a penalty (which wasn’t digested well by Rui Faria, Chelsea’s assistant coach). Sunderland drew against Man City mid week ( just missing out on the win). It looks like they’ve now recoverd their loss of points through Chelsea.
Why is it that the small teams always chose to play their best against the best teams? If they had that attitude throughout the season, they would have been in a more favourable position.

After the match, Mourinho was only saying “congratulations” and communicated his refusal to answer anymore questions by walking out during the interview. Mourinho also congratulated the referee as his record of not ever losing as Stamford Bridge has been shattered!

Chelsea have left the doors to the cup wide open for Liverpool. It’s now up to Liverpool whether they chose to go through…
