Tottenham have been keeping a close eye on the top four, with the hope of joining them. They are currently fifth on the Premier League table, but above Arsenal who are sixth.

Spurs started the new year by defeating Swansea 2-0. Although this was pleasing to them, they only managed to draw against West Ham two days later.

This weekend, Tottenham drew 1-1 with Southampton, with both goals being scored by a Spurs player. This pitiful result meant that they were unable to move into the top four.

With Manchester City way ahead of the other teams, the battle for top four is the one to watch and it will go down to the wire!

The Champions Deliver

Chelsea faced Tottenham away from home at the Webley stadium for their second Premier League match of the season! After losing their first match, there were concerns about the Chelsea squad.

However, those worries were all put to bed by Chelsea’s victory over Spurs! Alonso gave the Blues the lead in the 24th minute of the match. Despite all efforts from the opposition, they held onto this lead until the second half.

Sadly, Chelsea broke down their own advantage when Batshuayi headed in an own goal to equalise for Spurs. At this point, it looked as if both teams would be walking away from the game with one point.

Although, that was quick to change. Alonso worked his magic once again by scoring the winning goal in the 88th minute of the game! Not only did he secure the first three points for the Blues this season, but he also made up for his teammate’s ugly mistake!

Chelsea now seem to be fully growing into this season. With how well they defended against Tottenham and their ability to return from setbacks, we can suspect alot more great things to come this season!

The title is very much still Chelsea’s for the taking. Tottenham is crawling up behind them, however, considering the great football the Blues have been able to deliver this season, the trophy is likely to end up in their hands.

It is true that Chelsea finished 10th place on the Premier League table last season. However, that doesn’t seem to have affected the team’s mentality. They have renewed their image by winning matches over and over again.

They won all their Premier League matches in January, except for their 1-1 draw against Liverpool. They also won all their February games, including their 2-0 win against Wolverhampton for the FA Cup quarter finals, except for their 1-1 draw against Burnley. At this point they were still undefeated.

The Blues soured through March without any mishaps, and it was safe to say that they were on a high! However, April wasn’t so soft-hearted.

Both Crystal Palace and Manchester United defeated Chelsea this month, causing the gap between the leaders and second place Totenham to reduce to only four points. With only six more game to play, the pressure is definitely on!

Chelsea are set to face Tottenham for the FA Cup Semi final this weekend and, considering the tension between the two clubs in the Premier League, it might just be the most intense game to be played this year!

Arsenal were successful in their Champions League match on Wednesday. Their victories abroad make it hard to believe that they aren’t the masters of their home ground.

Ludogorets Razgrad scored two goals within the first 15 minutes of the game. Although this was worrying, Arsenal shocked us all with their response to this. Xhaka netted a goal in the 20th minute and Giroud scored the equaliser just before half time. They weren’t going to let the game end the way it started!

As the two teams were level again, all was to play for in the second half. The Gunners made sure that were the team to take advantage of the remaining time, for Giroud netted the winning goal in the 87th minute. Hurrah!

The Gunners have qualified for the last-16 round of the Champions League with two games left to go. Perhaps now they can give a bit more attention to the Premier League.

The Gunners had to face their old rival, Tottenham, for their weekend Premier League match. Although they took the lead when Wimmer netted an own goal in the 42nd minute, they conceded a penalty which put them level with Spurs when it was converted into a goal by Kane. This was irrecoverable.

Arsenal are third on the Premier League table, with a point less than the leaders, Chelsea. Even if they don’t end up winning the title race, maybe they’ll have a Champions League trophy in their hands instead!

The derby between Arsenal and Tottenham had a few fits of fustration, but no conquerer or leader. Instead, it simply had a mutual agreement.

The game ended in a 1-1 draw. The first goal, surprisingly, came from Tottenham! Kane netted the ball to secure the lead in the 32nd minute. This spurred on his team for the rest of the first half.

In the second half, it was the Gunners’ turn to prove what they could do. In the 77nd minute, Gibbs equalised for the Reds, cancelling out the previous dominance of Spurs!

Arsenal can’t win everyday. It’s not such a bad thing to drop points in such matches. The Gunners, in fact, picked the right day to draw as Manchester City also dropped points. No club is breaking free!

City Crash and Burn

Manchester City found themselves lost in a Tottenham turnover. They started with a will to fight, but things shortly began to turn around.

Manchester City took the lead when De Bruyne scored a goal in the 25th minute. This made the fans begin to expect  the usual City victory. Little did they know…

Dier equalised for Tottenham in the last minute of the fist half. The half time whistle blew with both teams level; the full time whistle blew with one team towering over the other.

Alderweireld gave Spurs the lead in the 50th minute and Kane extended it in the 61st. They were heading way out of City’s grasp.

In the 79th, Lamela even made it four for Tottenham. Manchester City have lost Hart, their main goalkeeper, to an injury and now they’re losing points for it too.

Manchester City were topping the table but now they are dropping. They’ve dropped another three points; others are gaining!

First One

Manchester United opened up the Premier League with a simple win against Tottenham. Only one goal was needed to put the game to rest.

The winning goal came in the first half of the match. Surprisingly, it came from the losing side! Walker scored an own goal in the 22nd minute to bag three points for the fiery opposition. Atleast he got cheers…from the opposing fans of course.

The possession in the game was split 50/50 and the shots at goal were also equal at nine. However, Tottenham had more shots on target. It’s just a shame that when they did score it wasn’t a goal to be spurred on.

Manchester United succeeded in their first match of the PL season. Nevertheless, it is no excuse to lay back as their win was not self generated. Can Man United carry themselves higher up the table this season?

City Heights

Manchester City faced Tottenham in their Premier League battle. The Premier League isn’t over but they’re definately edging towards a splendid finish.

In 90 minutes one goal was scored. If it wasn’t from the Spurs side then it must have been from City.

In the 29th minute Aguero scored his 22nd goal of the season to win his team three fascinating points! His effort must simply be commended.

Manchester City are in second place on the Premier League table and are three points away from Arsenal. They’ve hindered Tottensham’s dreams of finishing in top four, so will they finish where they desire?

Manchester United defeated a tatty Tottenham by three goals to nil. Shockingly, all the goals came in the first half of the match

Fellaini scored the first goal of the match within nine minutes of gameplay! Nothing was considered too soon for them and so this was then followed by a goal from Carrick just 10 minutes later.

Rooney was last to add to the scoreline in the 34th minute. How could it be possible that one half of a match could be filled with so many goals? Spurs, shamefully, were only able to get a shot on target in the 89th minute!

United have flown six points clear of Tottenham on the Premier League table. Could this mean that they’ve more or less secured top four?

Chelsea Are Champions!

The Capital One Cup has been lifted and the Blues have been the ones to raise it! They defeated Tottenham to win the final and claim what was rightfully theirs!

The win was first introduced by none other than John Terry! He scored the first goal of the match in the 45th minute. What a way to close the first half of the game! From there a cup lift was destined!

In the second half, it all deteriorated for Spurs. An own goal from Walker extended the lead for the Blues and secured their victory! Chelsea were Champions and there was no going back!

Mourinho has at last led his blue team to a trophy, and boy has it been a exciting, emotional and uplifting day for him! What more could he ask for?

Well, the Capital One Cup is not the only trophy the Blues can raise this season. The Premier League is looking more and more likely to be theirs soon. Can they make it happen?
