Bye Bye

Liverpool have dropped even more points after their draw with Everton. However, this wasn’t the only thing they lost as a result.

Liverpool were the first to break the ice. Ings netted a goal in the 41st minute. They needed to win, so all contributions were accepted with open arms!

However, this joy was quickly put to bed. Lukaku equalised for Everton in the 45th minute. The Toffees were were not about to let go of too many points!

Whilst Everton are up at 7th place, Liverpool is down at 10th. After only one win from nine game, Brendan Rodges has been sacked! Will his terminated contract potentially terminate Liverpool’s poor ways?

Job done

Liverpool managed to hold on to their win against Aston Villa. Villa did try their best, but it wasn’t good enough for Rodgers’ side.

The match started at a very fast pace. Milner gave Liverpool the lead in the second minute. The next goal came much later in the match when Sturridge scored a goal in the 59th.

In the 66th minute, Gestede netted a cancellation goal for Villa. However, Sturridge scored another goal just a moment later. Gestede did mange to score another goal, but it wasn’t enough to gain them a single point.

Liverpool are 7th position on the PL table, but they’re not yet in the top six. Can they continue their winning ways to rise into a place of prestige?

Pool of Upset

Gerrard played his last game for Liverpool against Stoke. It was a shame that a dreadful match resulted in a dreadful send off for Gerrard.

In the 22nd minute Diouf gave Stoke the lead. Four minutes later, the same man doubled it!

Another four minutes went by when Walters made it three for the club. The goals just couldn’t stop flying in!

Stoke wasn’t done there. Adam extended their lead in the 41st minute and by the 45th N’Zonzi had done the same. 5 goals in just the first half! Miraculous.

In the second half, Gerrard was the one to give Liverpool their only goal of the match. However, this was soon cancelled out as Crouch netted a goal for Stoke.

Liverpool has not conceded this many goals for 52 years! Perhaps it’s time that the Liverpool fans were listened to…is it time to send Rodgers out?

You Will Be Missed

Liverpool managed to defeat Wimbledon to qualify for the fourth round of the FA Cup. Who else could they thank more than the wonderful Gerrard!

Gerrard gave Liverpool the lead in the 12th minute of the match. This great start was later challenged by Akinfenwa in the 36th.

Although the Reds entered the second half level with Wimbledon, Gerrard soon made the results say otherwise. He netted the win for Liverpool in the 62nd minute!

Gerrard, today’s hero, is the player being let go. If Rodgers cannot see what he has done for the club, how can he know how to bring out the best in the Liverpool squad?

Super Sunday Supremacy

Liverpool and Manchester City versed each other in a game which had everything but the kitchen sink thrown at it! The game was an ample decider on how the Premier League might finish this year.
Liverpool started the game with an outbreak of power and energy; they scored 2 goals within the first 38 minutes of the game. They were starting to “unleash” their power like Brendan Rodgers had claimed.
Although, by the second half, it looked as if the tables had turned as Man City began to put spices into the pot of success brewing! Silva scored for Man City in the 57th minute, followed by another from Johnson in the 62nd. It looked as if it was going to be Chelsea’s lucky day until Liverpool scored a goal that put them 5 points ahead of them in the League table.
Today was the 25th anniversary of the Hillsborough disaster, so the game started 7 minutes later than usual. Liverpool’s win marked the occasion well and they got to show their fans that pressure is easy to wipe of their shoe.

Chelsea had to win today to close the gap after Liverpool’s victory at Anfield. They did just that with one goal being enough for them to take down 10 Man Swansea. Ba scored it in the 68th minute: why was the wait so prolonged? Anyway, Chelsea dominated with 26 attempts, although only 3 were on target.
Liverpool are winning with goals; Chelsea are winning with clean sheets. Which method is the best? Time will soon let us know.
