The End

Yesterday saw the end of the Premier League 2015/16 season. There was triumph for some teams, and tribulations for others. Either way, the season ended in palpitaing peformances!

Although Arsenal didn’tmake any additions to their trophy cabinet, they made sure to add another year onto their long-standing record. Tottenham suffered a dreadful 5-1 deafeat against Newcastle (a team which is being relegated along with Nowrich and Aston Villa), and the Gunners made sure to exploit this.

Arsenal defeated Aston Villa 4-0 to make it the 21st year in which they have finished above Spurs on the Premier League table. This mean, as well as missing out on the title, Tottenham have one more thing on their list of sorrows!

Chelsea managed to draw against title winners, Leicester, 1-1. This was a good result for the Blues, however, they only finished in 10th position, despite their efforts.Hopefully, next season will be one for rebuilding, restructing and restoring the glory of Chelsea.

One team that wasn’t able to finish the race along with the other teams was Manchester United. The match at Old Trafford was abondoned due to security reasons and, whilst this happened, Manchester City got a simple draw against Swansea to claim the final available position in top four!

To add to the long list of draws, Liverpool drew 1-1 against West Brom to end the season in 8th place. However, their fate is not yet decided since they still have to play the Europa League final!

If you thought there was alot to talk about this season, just wait until the next. With smaller teams becoming more powerful and with the larger teams succumbing to them, anything is possible.

Until next time…

Happy Football!
