Chelsea are a team that doesn’t lose very often these days. However, this in no way means that they are the symbol of success. To be honest, their results seems to be quite varied.
Chelsea crushed Aston Villa, the current lowest performing PL team, with a 4-0 defeat. The goals came from Loftus-Cheek (26′), Pato (through a penalty taken in 45+3) and Pedro (46′ and 59′). If that was grilling enough, Hutton- a Villa player- was sent of in the 85th minute! The cherry has been put on the cake perfectly.
Despite such uplifting events, the Blues failed to keep up the momentum (and their points tally). The following week, they lost to Swansea City by conceding one goal and scoring none. The goal was netted by Sigurdsson in the 25th minute and nothing else came after that. C’mon now. There must be more to the Blues than this.
Chelsea are 10th place on the PL table and it doesn’t look like they’re ready to move any further. Next year, they may only be competing in the Premier League. For once they haven’t got too much work to do, so they must get it right.
