DisUnited

Manchester United ended 2015 at 6th place on the Premier League table, and they don’t seem to have moved much since then. They lost to Stoke 2-0 and drew goallessly against Chelsea before pensively entering the new year.

Manchester United didn’t fail to deliver during the month of January. They made it through the the third and fourth round of the FA Cup by defeating Sheffield United and, later, Derby. United had moderate prosperity in tallying points in the Premier League: they defeated Swansea (2-1), drew against Newcastle (3-3), defeated their rival, Liverpool, (1-0) and lost against Southampton (0-1). They are definitely a team that likes change!

In fact, the sparse match results have meant that many fans haven’t stopped contemplating the future of Van Gaal this February. His United team defeated Stoke 3-0 before drawing against Chelsea (1-1) and losing against Sunderland (2-1).  After that, United lost the first leg of their Europa League match against FC Midtjylland. However, they made up for this in the second leg with a 6-3 victory on aggregate! They even defeated Shrewsbury 0-3 to pass the fifth round of the FA Cup! Not bad. Not bad at all.

This weekend they made a success of themselves. They defeated Arsenal 3-2, with two goals from Rashford and one from Herrera. The incident that might have slightly overshadowed their victory was the embarrassing fall of Louis Van Gaal! Manchester United is going up and they’re manager is falling down! The irony!

Manchester United are currently fifth on the PL table, so they haven’t budged too far up. If Van Gaal is to remain as manager, he must get them to finish in the top four. Mourinho is simply lingering around waiting for the vacancy! The pressure is on!
