If there was only one game that Liverpool should’ve won, it should have been their game against Newcastle. That didn’t happen. They lost their match, they lost three points and they might have even lost some hope.

The first goal of the match was put in by a Liverpool man himself. In the 69th minute, Skrtel scored an own goal, putting his team at a major disadvantage. They clearly weren’t serious about winning.

Newcastle, in fact, dominated the game. Wijnaldum netted a goal in extra time to finalise Newcastle’s win. They needed the win and they got it. Liverpool were the ones who lost out.

The Reds remain 7th on the table, sharing the same points as West Ham. If they’re looking for a spot in top four, they have to keep up with the tempo of triumph.
